Hats off to the Getty, Carrie Mae Weems' exhibition puts the political back into the ambiguous nature of contemporary art. The exhibit closed last Sunday, but if you missed it, her series entitled, "From Here I Saw What Happened, and I Cried", can be linked here, and if that leaves you hungry for more check out her website.
...And if you missed the Weems exhibit, chances are that you missed the Lyonel Feininger exhibit as well. Feininger, an obscure experimental photographer associated with the Bauhaus, was also on display alongside a collection of photographs taken by various students and faculty associated with the school at the time.
Lyonel Feininger and the Bauhaus
While poking around for Bauhaus related images and links, I stumbled upon this gem of a photo, taken by Kevin Cummings.
XXXO-O-O-MY.
